Getting Started

You may be thinking, "Would this help my child?" or "How do we schedule an evaluation?" This page will help you get started.

The first step is an intake phone conversation in which you tell us the difficulties your child is experiencing. If it seems that our services can help, we will send you a packet of forms to gather medical, developmental, and sensory histories (or you will be given a password to download the appropriate forms). This helps us determine the appropriate evaluation tools and approach to use.

Once this packet is returned, we will schedule an evaluation.

After the evaluation, we will meet with you to discuss our findings and recommendations. In this meeting, we will collaborate to set goals, and will answer any questions you may have. We provide a comprehensive report of our findings.

Occupational therapy treatment for kids is typically scheduled 1– 2 times per week but can be planned to meet your family's needs; the duration will vary depending on the needs of the child and the goals to be addressed.

Please call 612-250-5097 for further information or to schedule an evaluation or consultation.

Occupational therapy is paid for by some insurance policies for some conditions. Depending on your insurance policy, a doctor's referral may be needed. We will guide you through the referral and authorization process. If coverage is not possible, we can discuss a variety of payment options to make treatment affordable.
